Los Haitises Parque Nacional and Cayo Levantado or Hotel Paraiso "Cano Hondo"

The “Los Haitises” National Park in the southwest of Samana Bay includes the mangrove swamps, the dense tropical jungle forest and dozens of caves, some with rock engravings and sculptures by the native American Indians (Tainos). All kinds of animal species have their home here. The excursion begins with a 45-minute boat ride from Samana. We visit 2-3 caves and drive through the rugged rocky landscape, where many species of birds have their breeding and rearing places. Then we take our boat through the mangroves into the interior of the nature park. We leave the boat at a small boat landing stage and go to our destination “Cano Hondo” (on foot or by moped approx. 10-15 minutes). The hotel has 14 small, stone-built natural swimming pools that are ideal for swimming. The ideal place for nature lovers who like to relax and unwind. Since we now have to buy a day pass at this hotel, this tour including lunch has become a bit more expensive
We can also connect the national park with the island of Cayo Levantado, then we don't go to Cano Hondo.

Hinweis: Es geht mit unserem 7 Meter Boot über den Atlantik, wenn auch nur in der Bucht von Samana. Da kann es wellig und nass werden. Sonnenschutz nicht vergessen.
